Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, recently paid a visit to his father King Charles III and stepmother Queen Camilla at Clarence House, their royal residence in central London. However, tensions reportedly arose during the 30-minute visit on Thursday, according to inside sources at the palace.

According to Mirror, The surprise visit came ahead of the publication of Prince Harry's upcoming memoir "Spare" next week. It was likely an attempt to smooth relations with his father and stepmother before the book's potentially inflammatory contents are revealed.

According to senior palace sources, Queen Camilla was not pleased with Prince Harry's behavior, which was described as "outrageous" at times. Issues apparently arose when the prince made several "totally unacceptable" demands related to his and his wife Meghan's future royal roles.

The insider explained, "Harry was totally outrageous during the meeting, making demands and laying down ultimatums about tearing up the deal they had agreed before Megxit about not publicly criticizing the royals in the press."

"Charles told him it was completely unrealistic and that he would have to speak to his advisers before even considering such a move. Camilla was understandably upset with his behavior and made her feelings extremely clear," the source added.

Tensions have grown between Prince Harry and his father and other senior royals since he and Meghan stepped back from official duties in 2020. That rift appears to have deepened further since the couple's move to California and bombshell 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have openly criticized the royal family and life inside "The Firm" from across the Atlantic. As Prince Harry's book release nears, more revelations threaten to cause embarrassment and reputational damage to King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Prince Harry remains sixth in line to the British throne, although surveys show his personal popularity ratings with the British public have plummeted dramatically in recent years.

During Thursday's visit, insiders say King Charles reiterated his love for Prince Harry and hopes that they can reconcile, despite recent troubles. However, the new monarch also firmly told his son that certain topics or demands were simply off the table.

The source revealed, "(Charles) loves both his sons, but cannot comprehend why Harry is doing this when he had it all. He has been incredibly patient and generous to Harry over the years, but this latest outburst pushed him too far."

They added, "He made it crystal clear that there were certain things he would not tolerate, especially when Harry started making demands about removing royals from the line of succession."

Before leaving, Prince Harry reportedly asked if he could visit his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's apartments at Buckingham Palace, which King Charles had sealed off since her death. However, he was firmly told "no" by palace staff acting on Charles' orders.

Prince Harry's memoir "Spare" will be released globally by Penguin Random House on January 10, 2023. It is expected to give his uncensored take on royal life, family tensions, and the reasons he abandoned his royal duties for a new life in America.

If the book contains sensitive disclosures or attacks on the monarchy and his father, the current fragile peace between both sides may shatter completely. King Charles appears to be standing firm against any attempts by his son to damage the Crown or push for concessions.

As they struggle to reconcile amid raised tensions, it remains to be seen whether Prince Harry and King Charles can repair their deeply strained relationship in the coming months.
