The Prince of Wales attended the BAFTA Awards ceremony in London recently where he made a heartbreaking admission - that he doesn't have much time for his hobbies anymore since his wife Kate welcomed their three children.

While at the awards show, William revealed to BAFTA chief executive Elaine Bedell that he has struggled to keep up with films as much as he would like. He said "I've done the fewest films I've ever done before. It's been a bit of a drag." The prince, who has been president of BAFTA since 2010, normally tries to watch as many Oscar nominated movies as possible each year but admitted he hasn't had as much free time lately.

William went on to say that hopefully he and Kate can catch up on films together now that she is recovering from her recent surgery. The Duchess of Cambridge underwent an operation for an unknown abdominal issue on January 16th and has been at home in Windsor with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis since then.

The prince apologized to Bedell for only being able to make the BAFTA ceremony alone as Kate was still resting at home. However, body language expert Darren Stanton noted that William seemed unfazed by attending the event solo and may have even been mistaken for a Hollywood star with his suave appearance on the red carpet. Stanton also observed that William was more relaxed speaking to fans and members of the public outside the venue, even shaking hands with some, which is a rare move for senior royals.

Music and films have long been cited as William's favorite hobbies. As a child, he played the piano and cello and even performed in school concerts. In his free time as an adult, William enjoys relaxing by playing the guitar or listening to playlists curated by his wife Kate. However, with their growing family and increasing royal duties, both parents now have less personal time for leisure activities.

Since the birth of their three young children over the past 6 years, the Cambridges' lives have understandably become more hectic. In addition to caring for the kids full time, Kate and William have taken on more responsibilities as senior working royals following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from their roles. This leaves little downtime for catching up on television and movies, practicing musical instruments or unwinding with other pastimes.

At the BAFTA event, William also told Bedell that he hadn't seen the Oscar nominated film Barbieland yet but hoped to watch it soon. Fans outside the awards venue were impressed with William's appearance, with one remarking that he looked "handsome and compassionate." After the ceremony, the prince met with the nominees for the EE Rising Star Award, including Phoebe Dena-Agyei, Anne Ed Jacob, Mia McKenna Bruce and Sophie Wild.

It's understandable that parenting three young children - aged 8, 7, and 3 - leaves little free time. But William's confession highlights the sacrifices senior royals make in their personal lives to fulfill their busy public duties. While his admission was certainly heartbreaking for any fan of films or music, it shows William's commitment to his role in supporting the Queen and representing the monarchy. With luck, as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis get older, their parents may regain more hours in the day to relax and enjoy their favorite hobbies again.
