Megan Markle's popularity and influence in the United States has reached an all-time low, according to comments made by a prominent media personality. This comes as the Duchess of Sussex's hopes of making a last-minute appearance at the Democratic National Convention were dashed. 

Andrew Cin, editor of Harper's magazine in Washington DC, told Tatler magazine that Megan no longer has the same reputation she once had in America. "Her selling power has hit rock bottom here," Cin stated. He added that he doubts the Duchess will attend the DNC conference this year, as her inclusion would likely not sway any voters and may even hurt the Democrats' message.

Megan Markle and her husband Prince Harry moved to California in 2020 after stepping back from their royal duties in England. Since relocating to the US, there has been much speculation that Megan wants to get more involved with American politics. However, as the Democratic party's presidential nominee Kamala Harris continues campaigning for the top job, it seems an appearance by Megan at this month's DNC is off the table.

Cin explained that in recent years, Megan has suffered a significant loss of popularity and importance within the US. Any involvement by her at the Democratic gathering could overshadow the event and turn more voters away from supporting the party's candidates. "I doubt they want her there," he stated bluntly. 

Leading Republican strategist Adam Goodman echoed these sentiments. In an interview with GB News, Goodman said that if Megan were to openly endorse or campaign for a particular presidential candidate, it could seriously backfire. Both Democrats and Republicans may view such interference from a British royal negatively.

So with her reputation at a low point, it seems Megan will have to wait for a better political opportunity to make her mark in America. While speculation continues around other big-name guests like Beyonce, Michelle Obama or Taylor Swift headlining the DNC, it is understood the Duchess will be missing from the guest list.

But Megan attempting to thrust herself into presidential campaigning may contradict the claims of impartiality she and Harry have made since leaving royal duties. While they want influence, any direct involvement in polarizing party politics risks undermining their stated goal of bringing people together.

Rumors of Megan eyeing political office have swirled ever since she and Harry made California their home. Some speculate she may even consider running for governor or senator one day. However, with confidence in her so low in America right now, according to the insider reports, real politicking will surely have to wait. And her absence from the upcoming DNC suggests even Democratic leaders are wary of potential backlash from any high-profile role for her this election cycle.
