ROYALS IN SHOCK! Catherine And Charlotte SPOTTED Having 'Secret Battle' Over Appearance

It seems there may be tensions emerging within the Welsh family during their summer stay in Balmoral. Famous royal commentators Katherine and Charlotte have noticed what appears to be a quiet struggle between Princess Catherine and her young daughter Princess Charlotte over her hairstyle.

The royals are currently residing at Balmoral Castle, the Queen's Scottish estate where they traditionally spend some of their summer months away from the public eye. However, during a recent public outing for Trooping the Colour last month, keen-eyed Katherine and Charlotte captured some moments on video that have raised eyebrows.

In footage taken at the event, Princess Catherine is seen repeatedly trying to pull 7-year-old Charlotte's long hair back over her shoulders. However, the lively young princess keeps trying to wear her hair covering her face or pulled to the front. A compilation of scenes shows the mother gently but persistently fixing Charlotte's hair to fall properly down her back.

While many fans saw the touching mother-daughter moment as typical parental fussing, some have wondered if Catherine was enforcing a royal protocol around proper hairstyles. However, others believe it was simply a case of mum knowing best and wanting to see her daughter looking tidy and well-presented. As one commenter noted, "mothers do this regardless of their status. If they want your hair a certain way, they'll make sure of it."

Life with Rules for Wales Children

There are certainly many formal rules that royal children must follow related to etiquette and appearances. However, within their private family home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, the Princess and Prince of Wales also have their own set of household rules for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to obey.

Most famously, the couple enforces a strict no shouting policy inside the house. Any acting out or tantrums reportedly means the misbehaving child is swiftly sent to their bedroom or the dreaded "naughty step" as punishment. This calm approach aims to avoid raised voices or disturbances for the neighbours.

Another key family tradition is their annual summer trip to Balmoral every August. Away from royal duties in the Scottish Highlands estate, it's become an important bonding time for the tight-knit family to relax and reconnect. This year 8-year-old Charlotte is making her debut alongside older brother George, 9, and baby brother Louis, 4.

Sweet Scottish Summer Treats

According to former royal chef Darren McGrady, who helped cater many Balmoral visits, the estate's countryside offers abundant locally grown fruits that the family loves to enjoy. Everything from raspberries, strawberries, blackcurrants, and redcurrants to gooseberries and soft berries thrive in Scotland's climate.

He recalls how the Queen and her relatives would snack on picnic platters of the fresh berries or take them along on country barbecues. However, McGrady also created special Balmoral-inspired desserts using the seasonal bounty. His no-bake cheesecake featuring a biscuit base topped with creamy mascarpone cheese and layers of liqueured summer berries was a big hit.

The royals also take part in some traditional Scottish country pursuits like hunting and fishing. A centuries-old ritual sees any royal participating in hunting for the first time symbolic wear the blood of their initial kill smeared on their face. All eyes are on whether 9-year-old Prince George may take part in a grouse shooting party with father Prince William and have a small amount of stag blood marking his inaugural hunt. Even Princess Catherine participated in the ceremony years ago.

So while exterior tensions may be emerging between Princess Catherine and Charlotte, inside the private walls of Balmoral this summer the Wales family are carrying on long-held traditions of reconnecting in the relaxing Scottish countrysideescape from royal duties back in London. Only time will tell if a certain young royal princess earns her hunting initiation this year as well. Stay tuned for updates from us on any new royal developments from Balmoral!
