The eldest of Prince William and Princess Catherine's Royal children, Prince George, will see their lives change dramatically in 308 days because of a very old rule designed to keep the line of succession safe. Once Prince George turns 12, the young Royal siblings will no longer be able to travel together and he will also no longer be permitted to share a helicopter or airplane journey with his father Prince William.
According to this rule, the protocol is designed to protect the monarchy in case of accidents and keep the line of succession safe. News of the unusual rule was revealed ahead of Prince George's 11th birthday on July 22nd by King Charles's formal pilot Graham Lori. Given that Prince William is next in line to the throne and will one day become King, George is third in line and Charlotte is fourth. In the event of an accident on an aircraft or another form of transportation carrying both of them, it could threaten the immediate line of succession.
