Welcome back royal fans! As always, I'm here to share the latest news and insights from the British royal family. In today's post, we'll be taking a look at Duchess Camilla's relationship with some of Queen Elizabeth's most spectacular pieces of royal jewelry.

Throughout her time as a senior working royal, Camilla has clearly developed a close bond with Her Majesty. This was highlighted earlier this year when the Queen announced her "sincere wish" for Camilla to be known as Queen Consort when Prince Charles ascends the throne. Camilla herself called this a "great honor." While Camilla embraces her important role within the institution of the monarchy, there is one tradition she likely won't participate in - wearing the Queen's tiaras and jewels.

It's well known that Camilla has a great appreciation for the Queen's collection of royal jewels. Over the years, she has been spotted wearing some iconic pieces on loan from the monarch for important occasions. For example, Camilla has been seen wearing the stunning Delhi Durbar Parure tiara and the glittering Greville Tiara for state events. She has also worn brooches like the stunning Rock Crystal Brooch from the Queen Mother's collection.

However, there is one type of royal jewel that Camilla will never be able to wear - the breathtaking royal earrings. Despite their magnificence, Camilla has revealed that her ears remain unpierced. In an interview ahead of her 75th birthday last month, Camilla said her grandchildren have tried to convince her to get her ears pierced as a birthday gift but she remains firm - "nothing's going to pierce my ears."

Camilla commented that at her age, she doesn't see the point of getting her ears pierced now. While she has been photographed wearing earrings over the years, it's speculated these may have been pinned or modified to fit without pierced ears. With Camilla adamant that her mind won't change on this, it seems royal earrings will remain off limits regardless of how stunning the pieces are.

While sad for admirers of royal finery, Camilla's choice is understandable. Having one's ears pierced can be painful for some. At 75, Camilla likely feels she's past that stage of her life. However, it does mean missing out on showcasing some of the most iconic pieces from the Queen's collection.

Camilla's step-daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, has worn several spectacular pairs from the royal vault. At Prince Philip's funeral last year, Kate paid subtle tribute to the Queen by wearing the yellow-gold and pavé diamond Bahrain Pearl Earrings. These were a wedding gift to the Queen from the people of Bahrain. More recently at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee thanksgiving service, Kate re-wore the elegant drop earrings.

At the post-parade party for the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, Kate also reportedly chose to wear floral earrings belonging to the Queen. While Camilla doesn't have the option, it's lovely to see these treasured jewels being proudly displayed by other members of the royal family on important occasions. Even though Camilla cannot participate in this tradition herself, the Queen's jewelry still sparkles thanks to those close to her like Kate.

In conclusion, while Camilla will always be a cherished part of the Queen's family and will one day become Queen herself when Charles is King, her choice to keep her ears unpierced means missing out on an iconic aspect of royal style. However, Camilla seems perfectly content with her decision. It's yet another example of how each royal woman can embrace or modify tradition in their own way. What are your thoughts on Camilla's stance? Do you think she's right to stick to her choice at this stage in her life? Let me know in the comments below!
