Balmoral is a beloved private residence of the British royal family, having been in the royal family since 1852. It is where Queen Elizabeth traditionally spent her summers, taking respite from her royal duties in London. With its scenic Highlands setting, the estate was a place where the royals could relax in a private, informal way.

During their stay next week, King Charles and other royals like Princess Eugenie are expected to take time to privately grieve and remember their late matriarch Queen Elizabeth together. It will undoubtedly be an emotional time at Balmoral, where the Queen's presence is still strongly felt. However, it seems fitting that the close-knit family would come together at the place she loved most to commemorate her memory in their first summer without her.
Princess Eugenie's sweet family photo from Portugal provided a glimpse of joy and levity amid what will surely be a sombre family reunion at Balmoral. Fans welcomed this small insight into Eugenie's life as a new mother and her clear adoration for her sons. Many hope to see more casual photos from the royal family as they spend quality time together in Scotland, taking comfort in familial bonds during this period of mourning.
