In More Than A Decade Of Covering The Royal Family, I've Never Seen An Update Quite As Personal And Stunning As This

Royal fans around the world this afternoon have breathed a collective sigh of relief and may have even shed a tear as the Princess of Wales revealed in a heartfelt video message that she had finished her preventative chemotherapy for cancer. Speaking in a beautifully shot clip from Kensington Palace, Catherine will undertake more light-hearted engagements including events centered around her passion for sport over the summer but she has stressed that she will continue to take it each day as it comes.

Her message was plain and unvarnished - the past nine months have been a terrible ordeal but her family and the nation gave her the strength to carry on. Alongside the video, she expressed her gratitude for all of the kind messages and support and encouragement she's received over the last few months. These messages, she said, have made a world of difference for both her and William, helping them through the toughest times.

Never before has there been a film which shed so much light on the Royal couple's private life and it served as a reminder that Catherine, who we miss so much, had a colossal dual role in life as a princess and fashion icon but also as a wife and mother. There were five subtle things fans may have missed while watching the video for the first time.

In the video, the couple can be seen spending time with their three royal children as they can be seen running around playing and enjoying time in the great outdoors. Although doting parents, it's clear that both The Prince and Princess of Wales aren't overly cautious parents and they're happy to let the three children roam around and explore the Great Outdoors.

Catherine was also seen wearing her rings again, which was something she had not done in a controversial Mother's Day photograph at the time that her operation would have caused weight loss resulting in the ring becoming too big to wear.

The intimate video is the first of its kind for the royal family as it displays extremely intimate family moments throughout the footage. The family of five are seen to be very loving with each other as well as Catherine and will hugging and holding hands throughout. The parents are also seen as being very affectionate with their children as they hug, hold hands, and lean against each other and share forehead kisses. One sweet moment also shows the family as a unit being affectionate as the princess is lying on the beach with her husband and two eldest children hugging her.

One shot that particularly stands out to Royal fans is the short clip of the princess driving a car as she is seen changing gears and taking herself out and about. Although it's a well-known fact that the late Queen loved to drive, most of the time Royals are seen in the back of cars as they are driven from event to event. However, in this new clip Catherine is very much in control and driving, which may resemble her taking control of her own journey.
